Rain was one the shyest cats we ever met. Even though we found him as a kitten during a TNR project, he remained skittish and cautious around his foster mom for several months. Except when there was food around. Then he was her BFF. But after meal time, he would go back to hiding.
When an interested adopter inquired about Rain, we told him that Rain will most likely hide a lot and need time to adjust to his new environment and new people. The adopter was willing to give Rain the time he needed. Well, it took six weeks for Rain to finally give his new dad a chance and now they are best friends (for real, not just when there is food around) and we couldn’t be happier. We are so happy and grateful that Rain found the perfect person who had the patience and commitment to give Rain the time he needed to feel safe.
