K was time stamped at Philly ACCT over the summer. This sweet girl came into the shelter with her brother who was rescued but no one had come for K. It was clear she didn’t have the best life. Almost all her fur was missing, she had pups recently, she was underweight and she was suffering from eye and ear infections.
A wonderful foster stepped up for K just as her time was running out. The next day we picked K up. We hadn’t met her yet and weren’t sure what to expect. Well, she was the sweetest dog! She was so happy to be out of the shelter. When she got to her foster home she ran around the grassy yard in happiness. It took a few vet visits, some medication and a lot of TLC from her foster mom, but K’s fur all grew back in and she recovered from her skin, ear and eye infections. She put on weight and looked like an entirely different dog!
When she was all healed up, we had her spayed and microchipped. She was finally ready to go up for adoption after several months. Her foster mom, however wasn’t able to let her go. So she made K her forever dog. She now called her Miss K, Katherine Kay or Kissy K. She says she loves to play fetch in the yard and cuddle and give kisses.
