Rufus is a confident and affectionate cat who loves being pet and getting attention. He is very social with humans and just wants to be someone’s best friend. He loves to play with toys and nap on the comfiest bed he can find. Rufus has been with us for several months now and really needs a foster or forever home.
We found sweet Rufus while doing a TNR project in Camden, NJ. He walked right up to us and climbed into our laps seeking attention. He had an upper respiratory infection at the time and we could hear him struggling to breathe through congestion and his eyes were almost closed shut and dripping with green discharge. We immediately took this friendly street cat to the vet and found out he was already neutered. Since he isn’t eat tipped we’re guessing he was once someone’s house cat. The vet gave him medication for his upper respiratory infection and we had him tested for FIV/felv. The rest came back positive for FIV which is a disease that weakens his immune system. We didn’t want to put him back out on the cold (it was December) with an upper respiratory and FIV so we decided to take him into our adoption program. We know this charming, social butterfly will make a great companion.
Rufus is an adult cat approximately 8 years old. He’s neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
