TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) is the most effective way of reducing unwanted litters of kittens and reducing the number of cats being euthanized in shelters.
While we try to accommodate every request to take in a cat or kitten in need, the requests far outweigh our resources. It can be overwhelming. However, we realized there was still something we could do to help cats. By implementing a TNR program, we could help prevent more cats from being in these dire circumstances. We currently have TNR programs in South Jersey and New York City. Our volunteers humanely trap the cats, partner with local clinics to have them spayed/neutered and vaccinated and then release them back into a colony that is maintained by a caretaker. We also provide food, shelter, and additional vet care whenever possible for injured or sick cats in the colony.
